The Corporate Internet Group (CIG) supports public Internet sites for all lines of business within J. P. Morgan Chase. CIG is comprised of over 400 professionals located in Delaware, New York, Ohio, Florida and Illinois. The group consists of senior business strategists, developers, infrastructure and architecture specialists, information architects, usability professionals, interactive designers, editors and other project support and operations staff. CIG works closely with all lines of business including: Auto Lending, Business Banking, Card Services, Commercial Banking, Education Finance, Home Lending, Investing, Private Bank, Private Client Services, Retail and Treasury. As an Application Developer you will be part of a team that provides high quality technology solutions by developing application components for the Chase Online customer base. You will be responsible for developing, testing, and QA support of assigned application components in a delivery focused environment. A CIG Application Developer is an integral part of the project team and needs the ability to effectively communicate with other team members both within and outside of CIG. You will work closely with a CIG Application Development Lead to report development status, identify project issues and offer workable solutions. You will be responsible for ensuring that your code is of high-quality, fully functional, readable, maintainable, and fulfills the pre-defined business requirements. Responsibilities:
* Responsible for the design, development, and IST of assigned application components
* Ensure that all coding standards are met--code is readable, well-documented, maintainable, and efficient (and of course fully-functional)
* Ensure that all assigned development is thoroughly unit tested and follows technical design
* Understand business requirements and how assigned application components are meeting those requirements
* Raise technical issues and problems to development lead; identify solutions and work with development lead to implement them
* Support QA phase by accurately fixing defects and working with QA testers to ensure that fix is complete
* Identify efficiencies and ways to improve design and development processes
* Desire to take on additional responsibility

Requirements |
* Minimum two years of application development experience using the Java programming language
* BEA Weblogic or IBM Websphere experience
* Struts experience
* Oracle or SQL server experience
* Webservice development experience
* Knowledge of open source tools and utilities
* Ability to work within a delivery focused environment.
* Experience with Internet based development and object-oriented methodologies
* Knowledge of RIA / Ajax a plus
* College degree in related technical/business areas
