08-0394 Senior Business Analyst
Pepco Holdings, Inc. (PHI) is one of the largest electricity delivery and natural gas companies in the mid-Atlantic region. More than 1.8 million customers in Washington D.C., Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey and Virginia depend on PHI for their electricity and natural gas needs.
We are seeking a Senior Business Analyst to join the staff at our Washington, DC or Newark, Delaware location. In this role, you will work collaboratively with line of business management to achieve common objectives by providing financial services in support of business needs and strategies. This position serves as a financial representative of the line of business and is accountable for budgeting/ tracking/ reporting and other financial matters including, (but not solely limited to) financial analysis, maintaining SOX controls, certain accounting related activities, management reporting, decision support, as well as financial policies and guidelines.

Requirements |
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Engineering or related field OR the equivalent combination of education/training and/or related experience.
Experience demonstrating skill developing, implementing, analyzing and monitoring/tracking budgets, metrics, and cost allocations.
Experience demonstrating skill using financial analysis of performance measures/drivers to determine financial options and identify budget trends.
Experience demonstrating skill preparing and presenting analysis reports and presentations for management on budgets, estimates and cash forecasts.
Experience demonstrating skill interacting with and providing assistance and guidance with budget preparation, procedures, guidelines and projections.
Experience demonstrating skill using SAP or similar financial software system.
Experience demonstrating skill using PC-based word processing, presentation and e-mail software to perform work functions.
Experience demonstrating skill using PC-based spreadsheet software to perform advanced functions (e.g., to develop formulas, complete calculations across multiple worksheets, import and export data from other financial software, and use macros, functions, graphics and formats).
Demonstrated knowledge of Corporate Accounting procedures and budget systems.
Ability and willingness to work extended hours and during power restoration efforts as required.
Ability and willingness to travel to various locations as required.
Must successfully pass a Criminal History Records Check.
Must possess a valid driver's license.
Preferred:
MBA or master's degree in related field.
Experience demonstrating skill ensuring compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
Experience demonstrating skill researching and evaluating the impact of new accounting procedures and financial reporting rules and regulations.
Experience demonstrating skill communicating with others at various levels within the organization.
Knowledge of electric utility core and supporting processes.
