08-0378 Manager Energy Transactions

We are seeking a Manager Energy Transactions to join the staff at our Washington DC, Carneys Point New Jersey or Newark Delaware location. In this role, you will manage all aspects of the procurement for unbundled portfolio supplies for SOS customers for PHI. Develop portfolio plans, conducts negotiations and/or bidding for supplies, directs market procurements. Responsibilities include portfolios for capacity, energy, renewable requirements and ancillary services. Coordinate portfolio procurement with DSM & DR initiatives, renewables contracts, and generation contracts. Routinely evaluates portfolio performance and adjusts (purchases and/or sales) to maintain performance within pre-determined ranges. Coordinate portfolio evaluation and adjustments with the Manager, Risk Management. Implement systems to capture transactions, analyze performance and allow payments to be processed by others. Support regulatory activities and may prepare testimony.
Responsibilities: Technical positions at various levels report to this position. This position has responsibility for hiring and development of subordinates. This position is responsible for supply contracts of $100-$200 million per month. This position is responsible for managing transactions that adjust for capital, credit and market risks of the supply portfolios. This position will have accountability for key controls for SOX reporting.

Requirements |
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or Economics OR equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
Experience demonstrating skill managing all aspects of the procurement process for unbundled portfolio supplies (for example, capacity, energy, renewable requirements, ancillary services) to include:
odeveloping portfolio plans, conducting negotiations and/or bidding for supplies, and/or directing market procurements;
oevaluating portfolio performance and making adjustments to maintain performance;
odiscussing portfolio performance with other individuals to make portfolio decisions; and,
o managing transactions that adjust for financial, market, and credit risks of the portfolios.
Experience demonstrating skill collaborating and building relationships with others (for example, internal/external customers, vendors, colleagues).
Experience demonstrating skill participating in regulatory processes.
Knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley key control activities for Sarbanes-Oxley reporting.
Experience demonstrating skill working with power markets within the electric utility industry.
Knowledge of wholesale power market tariffs, transactions, and/or settlements.
Experience demonstrating skill supervising employees, to include developing performance standards, conducting performance appraisals, providing feedback, coaching, training, and making personnel decisions.
Experience demonstrating skill using PC-based word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, and e-mail software.
Ability and willingness to travel to various Company locations.
Ability and willingness to work non-standard and extended hours as required.
Must possess a valid driver's license.
Must successfully pass a Criminal History Records Check.
Preferred:
Experience demonstrating skill working with generation, PJM, and wholesale electric system operations within the electric utility industry.
Experience demonstrating skill purchasing/selling risk hedging strategies.
Experience demonstrating skill coordinating portfolio procurement with Demand Side Management (DSM) & Demand Response (DR) initiatives, renewable contracts, and generation contracts.
Experience demonstrating skill implementing a new software system.
Experience demonstrating skill preparing and/or presenting testimony for regulatory proceedings.
