08-0377 Manager Energy Portfolio
Pepco Holdings, Inc. (PHI) is one of the largest electricity delivery and natural gas companies in the mid-Atlantic region. More than 1.8 million customers in Washington D.C., Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey and Virginia depend on PHI for their electricity and natural gas needs.
We are seeking a Manger Energy Portfolio to join the staff at our Washington DC, Carneys Point New Jersey or Newark Delaware location. In this role, you will lead the energy supply process for ACE, DPL and Pepco. Develop procurement strategies and related business and risk management policies. Develop regulatory approaches and supports dialogue with regulators and legislators in cooperation with Regulatory Affairs and Government Relations. Present testimony and leads working groups as necessary. Develop business practices that implement, manage and control energy supply procurement activities in accordance with regulatory directives, including SOX controls. Develop the organization necessary to acquire energy supply resources and manage wholesale transactions. Procure and implement necessary systems to support the organization. Conduct negotiations and executes purchases and sales, or provides process oversight for these activities. Has accountability for supply portfolio design and management. Ensure DSM, renewables and other resources are cost effectively aggregated within the portfolio. Has accountability for risk management functions of the portfolio. Represent PHI on related industry groups.
Responsibilities: The Managers of Energy Transactions and Risk Management, and Wholesale Billing and Administration report to this position. This position is responsible for management of the portfolio supply process. This position is responsible for related O&M budgets. This position is responsible for supply contracts of $100-$200 million per month. This position is responsible for managing the capital, credit and market risks of the supply portfolios. This position will have accountability for key controls for SOX reporting.

Requirements |
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or Economics OR equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
Experience demonstrating skill managing and controlling energy supply procurement activities.
Experience demonstrating skill buying and selling within an energy supply portfolio.
Experience demonstrating skill using energy portfolio system software.
Experience demonstrating skill participating in regulatory activities to include one or more of the following: presenting testimony, leading working groups, developing regulatory approaches, and/or supporting dialogue.
Experience demonstrating skill conducting contract negotiations of at least $10 million and having authority to commit to wholesale electricity purchases and sales.
Experience demonstrating skill overseeing and/or ensuring adherence to key controls for Sarbanes-Oxley reporting.
Experience demonstrating skill working within business and risk management policies related to wholesale power or fuel markets.
Experience demonstrating skill working within the electric utility industry and PJM markets.
Knowledge of wholesale power market tariffs, transactions and settlements.
Experience demonstrating skill developing and monitoring a budget.
Experience demonstrating skill developing and presenting proposals/information to upper management.
Experience demonstrating skill managing professional employees to include developing performance standards, conducting performance appraisals, providing feedback, delegating, coaching, training, and making personnel decisions.
Experience demonstrating skill using PC-based word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, and e-mail software.
Ability and willingness to travel to various Company locations.
Ability and willingness to work non-standard and extended hours as required.
Must possess a valid driver's license.
Must successfully pass a Criminal History Records Check.
Preferred:
Master's of Business Administration (MBA).
Knowledge of the electric utility industry to include generation and wholesale electric system operations.
Experience demonstrating skill designing an energy supply portfolio.
Experience demonstrating skill representing a company on industry groups and/or in public forums.
Experience demonstrating skill developing business and risk management policies, and/or overseeing risk management functions.
Experience demonstrating skill assisting with the implementation of a new software system.
